BIO

A jazz singer in a former life, Melbourne songbird and storyteller Mezz Coleman finally found her home in the folk music world, and with her ukulele in hand has spent the last decade performing her unique blend of soulful folk pop at festivals and venues around Australia. Career highlights include opening for artists such as Kimbra, Shane Howard (Goanna), Sara Storer, Kavisha Mazzella, John Flanagan Trio and Georgia Fields.

Whether playing solo or with her full band, Mezz always manages to create an intimacy with her audience. Her passionate vocal delivery, poignant yet down to earth lyrics, and relaxed banter between songs very quickly breaks down the barrier between performer and audience. With four independent releases under her belt and over a decade of shows in some of Australia’s top venues and festivals all across the country, Mezz is currently working on a fresh batch of songs to share with the world soon.

While working as an original artist will always be Mezz's greatest love, she has also had the incredible privilege of working as a backing vocalist and session singer for artists such as Nana Mouskouri, Marcia Hines, Barry Humphries, Gary Pinto, Delta Goodrem, Anthony Callea, Brian McFadden, John Foreman, The Melbourne Gospel Choir and more. She has performed at many events including the Channel 9 Carols by Candlelight, MCG Grand Final, Dancing with the Stars and Good Friday Appeal Gala. Mezz is also a passionate educator and works extensively around Melbourne as a sought after vocal coach.
